Here you will find some useful information about booking a stay with us at Hotel Bernerhof & Residence:
When is check-in & check-out available?
Check-in is daily from 14:00 – 18:00. We DO NOT OPERATE A NIGHT RECEPTION. Late check-ins will be subject to a late check-in fee of CHF_50.00.
Check-out is daily by 10:30.
Can I check-in with my mobile phone?
We do not operate digital check-in currently.
Does my booking include breakfast?
Breakfast is extra, unless otherwise paid for in advance, all bookings made via Booking.com, Expedia and all affiliate platforms are ROOM ONLY RATES.
Can I leave my luggage?
Luggage can be left, free of charge, daily in the ski room.
Do you have a lift?
Sadly, we DO NOT HAVE A LIFT as the building was built in 1908. If you have accessibility issues, please be aware all rooms are only accessed by stairs.
Will I get a nice view?
All rooms have beautiful views of the mountains, balconies can not always be guaranteed.
What is the difference between a Basic Tourist Room with shared bathroom and a Double or Triple Room with Private Bathroom?
If you book a Basic Tourist Room, these are situated on the 3rd and 4th floors. Basic Tourist Rooms have a shared bathroom facility on the 3rd and 4th floors, with sink inside your own room. They have single beds and bunkbeds and do not have a private bathroom inside unlike the Hotel Double & Triple Rooms situated on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors.
Can we cook our own food in your hotel?
We have no cooking facilities on site as this is a hotel with a separate restaurant. Hotel guests benefit from a 5 % discount upon presentation of their key when eating and drinking in The Taverne. *
*For all our Hotel and Residence guests we offer a 5% discount on all food and beverages consumed together * in our à la carte Restaurant during your stay.
To claim your 5% discount please show your room key when dining with us.
*5% discount does not apply to drinks only
Do you have a microwave?
A microwave is not available on site for public use.
Do you have a fridge in the room?
No, fridges are not provided in you room, but a communal fridge is available for guests’ use. Please ask on arrival.
Do rooms have tea and coffee facilities inside?
No. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the communal area of the hotel free of charge. Please ask on arrival. Mugs are provided in your room and a kettle can be borrowed for your room in exchange for a CHF_20, €20, £20, $20 deposit.
Can I use a European Plug Adaptor in Switzerland?
Swiss electrical adaptors are different to European and if you do not have the correct adaptor these can also be borrowed in exchange for a CHF_20, €20, £20, $20 deposit.
Is their Air-con in my room?
No unfortunately not, and we do not have electrical fans due to the electrical consumption.
Do you offer a turn-down service and daily room service?
No, I am afraid as a budget hotel we do not offer these services. However, should you require anything from housekeeping, please display the green sign on your door before 10:00 and they will provide a “freshen-up” service between 10:00 and 13:00.
Can I drive my car to Wengen and park at the hotel?
Wengen is a car-less village and accessed only by train from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen. Please visit https://www.jungfrau.ch/de-ch/anreise-bahnhoefe-parking/parkhaus-lauterbrunnen/ & https://www.sbb.ch for more information.
